Katya Gorbatiouk is a senior financial services, sustainability and strategic management professional with over 20 years’ experience in international organisations. She is an experienced board member and trustee.
Ms Gorbatiouk works at the London Stock Exchange in Primary Capital Markets, with coverage responsibilities for Russia, CIS and Central Asia.
Her early career includes 14 years in investment banking, with aparticular focus on Emerging Markets. Starting in New York and then inLondon, she worked at Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisseand Barclays, advising corporate clients, state-owned companies and private equity funds on M&A, equity and debt offerings, restructurings and principal investments. Ms Gorbatiouk has taken on leadership roles from the early stages of her career, successfully developing and launching new products and initiatives at global investment banking institutions.
Over the prior 7 years, Ms Gorbatiouk has been leading a Eurasia joint venture for an IP-led U.K. publicly traded company, Plexus Holdings Plc, that is championing environmentally sustainable technologies in the oil and gas industry.
Ms Gorbatiouk is a member of the Stakeholder Governance working group at the UK Institute of Directors and an active contributor to its recently launched Centre for Corporate Governance. She is Chair of the Board Effectiveness & Stakeholder Governance working group and has co- authored an IoD publication on the subject. She has recently launched an educational webinar series to address practical challenges of implementing stakeholder governance.
Ms Gorbatiouk has recently collaborated with the Climate Governance Initiative of the World Economic Forum, having conceived and moderated the first panel of its inaugural Annual Summit, sponsored by the Shanghai-based New Development Bank, along with the regional chapters of the US, Canada, the Nordics and Russia.
Ms Gorbatiouk is a regular contributor to the Washington DC-based Global Leaders Program’s speaker series, having put together and moderated discussions with distinguished panelists on effective crisis governance and the evolution of corporate social responsibility.
