Speaker’s Biography
Erik is a serial entrepreneur and engineer by training. He founded POD Point in 2009 in the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis. He saw the potential of electric vehicles as the next major mode of transportation and set himself the goal of wiring up the UK with chargepoints to facilitate the switch to EV from internal combustion engines. Under Erik’s stewardship POD Point has become Europe’s leading providers of electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) with a range of intelligent charging points for use at home, in workplaces and at frequently visited destinations. So far the firm has shipped over 40,000 points and boasts the UK’s largest publicly accessible network of over 2,500 charging bays.

Pod Point install homecharge products for customers of Nissan, Volkswagen, Volvo, Hyundai Renault and other brands. Their public network is available at a wide range of locations including Sainsbury’s and Southern Rail. They also have over 1,000 workplace customers, including high profile companies such as Lloyds Banking Group, Britvic and O2 Telefónica. Through these home, workplace and destination charge points they have already powered over 60 million miles of electric vehicle motoring, and are adding over 1m miles a month.
