Country Case Study: Natural Resources Opportunities in Nicaragua

Watch the Discussion >

Jonathan Blanchard Smith, Chairman of The Natural Resources Forum moderates a panel discussion on the current natural resources environment and investment opportunities available in Nicaragua. In addition to a supportive government both at the national and local level, wider community support, robust regulatory framework with attractive investment and taxation incentives, and the highest levels of security in the region with access to a depth of skilled labour, Nicaragua is well placed to attract wider international investment. Nicaragua is currently enjoying a gold mining boom, including increased diversity of export markets and investment in renewable and sustainable energy. Our panelists are joined by Nicaraguan Minister of National Policies, Dr Paul Oquist Kelley, Mark Child, Chairman and CEO of Condor Gold, and Dr Tim Lucks, Director and Principal Consultant at SRK Consulting as they explore and discuss the business, social and economic contributions helping place Nicaragua firmly on the map.
