Need to know

Metalysis’ solid-state, electrochemical metal powder technology is lower-cost and more environmentally friendly than traditional melting production methods. It began with a discovery at the University of Cambridge and today produces a huge range of metals and alloys at industrial scale; generating high margins from end-users in metal 3Dprinting aerospace and automotive applications. Metalysis’ Generation 4 (“Gen4”) technological expansion will complete in 2017, delivering hundreds of tonnes’ annualised production capacity. The next modular expansion stage, “Gen5”, will present distributed manufacturing options for thousands of tonnes. Metalysis is based in South Yorkshire and supported by global shareholders including BHP, Iluka Resources and Woodford Funds.
