Speaker’s Biography
Gert is the Group Treasurer and Financial Controller of Diarough Group. Located in Antwerp and Luxembourg, his responsibilities include group treasury, forex, administration, credit and compliance. Gert joined the Company in 2008. He previously worked as a Corporate Banker at the Antwerp Diamond Bank for 11 years. Gert has a degree in Applied Economics from Antwerp University.

Diarough Group was established in 1975 and is managed by several members of the Parikh Family. Diarough manages its global business through offices in Antwerp, New York, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Dubai, Botswana, India and Luxemburg. Diarough is one of a select group of diamantaires with purchasing agreements with all 4 major mining firms DTC, Alrosa, Rio Tinto and Dominion. Diarough Conducts business across several segments of the diamond supply chain, ranging from the trading of rough diamonds, to manufacturing jewellery and diamonds and distributing of polished diamonds. A strong client focus and high service levels for its downstream clients are amongst its core strengths.
