Speaker’s Biography

Paul Thomson was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Aureus in September 2011. He has over 20 years global experience in the energy and mining industries, and prior to joining Aureus he qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young in 1996 and moved into its corporate finance division in 1997, advising on a broad range of transactions in the energy and mining sectors for quoted and unquoted corporate clients. He joined Kazakhmys in 2007 in the Business Development group, where he was responsible for project financing and development along with significant mergers and acquisitions activities.

Aureus Mining (LON:AUE) is a West African Gold Producer, whose assets include the New Liberty gold mine in Liberia. New Liberty has an estimated proven and probable reserve of 924 Koz grading 3.4 g/t and a measured and indicated resource of 1.143 Moz grading 3.6 g/t and an inferred resource of 593 Koz of gold grading 3.2 g/t. New Liberty is expected to have an eight-year life, with first gold poured in May 2015. The Company has an exploration portfolio of 1,402 km2 located on major gold bearing structures and a total resource base of 2.8 Moz grading 2.5 g/t.
