Speaker’s Biography

Andrew became Chairman and Interim Chief Executive following Hague & London Oil’s combination with Wessex Exploration in 2014. He was previously an Executive Director of Coastal Energy before its sale to CEPSA for approximately C$2.3bn in November 2013. Prior to that, Andrew was the CEO of Dominion Petroleum (which was sold to Ophir Energy in 2011) and a co-founder of Salamander Energy. He has previously also worked for Western Geophysical; Veritas DGC Indonesia and Anadarko Petroleum. Andrew has over 20 years of international experience in the oil and gas industry working across Asia Pacific, North Africa and the Middle East.

Hague and London Oil was created in 2014 through a combination of Wessex Exploration with a privately-owned company founded by Andrew Cochran and Bill Phelps. It is now listed on AIM in London with an ambition to build an independent international exploration and production company with scale for growth in a competitive environment. The strategy is to build a diversified portfolio of assets in emerging markets with a balance of production, low risk appraisal and exploration opportunities. The current focus is on South East Asia where the Company recently announced a potential acquisition (Indonesia) and already holds a license (Philippines).
